Getting Married In Cyprus

A destination that makes sense — logistically, visually, financially.

Cyprus has been a destination wedding location for decades, but the quality of venues, planners and suppliers on the island has risen sharply in the last ten years. What was once a budget-holiday option is now a genuine luxury destination — with the infrastructure to match.

We plan destination weddings for couples travelling from the UK, Europe, the Middle East and beyond. Most of our couples have never visited Cyprus before they book. They trust us because we know the island completely: every venue, every supplier, every seasonal quirk, every piece of legal paperwork. We do this so they don't have to.

From the first call to the last dance, a destination wedding in Cyprus through Marry Me Cyprus is managed as a single, seamless experience — not a collection of vendors you've found online and hope will fit together on the day.

Why Cyprus

Six reasons couples choose Cyprus over every other destination.

320 days of sunshine

Cyprus has one of the highest sunshine records in Europe. From April through October, rain is rare and temperatures reliably deliver the kind of golden-evening light that no studio can replicate. Your guests aren't gambling on the weather — they're planning a holiday around it.

Direct flights from everywhere

Paphos and Larnaca airports receive direct flights from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Tel Aviv and dozens of other cities. A 4.5-hour flight from the UK means guests can fly out the morning of the wedding and back the day after without burning annual leave.

A venue for every vision

Twenty-one curated venues across the island — clifftop estates, private beachfronts, stone-built country villas, monastery ruins, winery gardens and contemporary coastal properties. Cyprus doesn't force you into a type. The range is genuinely broad, from intimate ceremonies for 10 to celebrations for 300.

Legally straightforward

Cyprus has one of the most accessible civil marriage processes in the Mediterranean for foreign nationals. No extended residency requirements, no multi-month document delays. With the right preparation, your Notice of Marriage, registrar booking and legal ceremony can be arranged entirely in advance of your arrival.

Better value than Italy or France

For comparable quality — equivalent venues, styling, catering and photography — Cyprus consistently offers 20–40% more value than equivalent destinations in the western Mediterranean. Your budget goes further, and the standard of suppliers on the island has risen sharply over the past decade.

15 years of local expertise

Marry Me Cyprus has planned destination weddings on the island for over 15 years. We know every venue, every supplier, every seasonal quirk and every piece of paperwork. Couples planning from the UK, Europe, the Middle East and beyond trust us because we are physically here — not a remote booking platform.

How We Work

Planning your Cyprus destination wedding from abroad.

Most of our destination wedding couples plan the entire celebration remotely — visiting Cyprus just once or twice before the wedding day itself. Here's how we make that work.

Complete Planning Service
01

First call & vision session

We start with a video call to understand your vision, guest count, budget range and preferred style. No forms, no checklists — a conversation. We then send a curated venue shortlist and outline planning timeline within 48 hours.

02

Venue selection & booking

We arrange virtual venue tours for your shortlist and, where possible, a single site-visit trip to Cyprus for your favourites. Once you choose, we handle the venue contract, deposit and early supplier holds on your behalf.

03

Legal paperwork & registrar

We guide you through every document: birth certificates, apostilles, Notice of Marriage at your chosen Town Hall, and registrar booking at your venue or civil office. Everything is checklist-managed and deadline-tracked — no legal surprises.

04

Supplier build & styling plan

We assemble your full supplier team from our trusted network: photographer, florist, catering, bar, music, hair and makeup, transport. A full styling brief and mood board gives you visual confidence months before you board the plane.

05

Wedding week & day

Your lead planner is physically present from wedding morning through to the end of the night. Guest transfers, supplier calls, timeline management, ceremony cues — all handled. You don't need to know a single supplier's phone number.

Ask Us Directly

Why do couples choose Cyprus for a destination wedding?

Cyprus is the Mediterranean's most practical destination wedding choice. It has over 320 days of sunshine per year, a legally straightforward civil marriage process, direct flights from every major UK, European and Middle Eastern city, and a venue range that spans clifftop estates, private beaches, stone-built country villas and monastery ruins — all within a 90-minute drive. English is universally spoken, the island is politically stable, and the combination of culture, food, scenery and weather makes it a natural extended-stay destination for guests travelling from abroad.

Is it complicated to get legally married in Cyprus as a foreign couple?

Not at all. Cyprus has one of the most straightforward civil marriage processes in the Mediterranean for foreign nationals. You'll need to give Notice of Marriage at a Cyprus Town Hall, provide birth certificates (apostilled from your home country), proof of single status (a letter from your national authority or a statutory declaration), and passport copies. The process is entirely manageable remotely ahead of travel. Our Legal Assistance service handles your document checklist, the Town Hall Notice booking, and any registrar arrangements at your venue.

How far in advance do we need to plan a destination wedding in Cyprus?

Most destination wedding couples plan 12–18 months ahead, particularly for peak-season Saturdays in May, June, September and early October. These dates at our most popular venues book 14–18 months out. That said, Cyprus is far more flexible than many think: we regularly plan beautiful destination weddings in 4–6 months for flexible mid-week dates or elopements, and have turned around short-notice micro-weddings inside 8–10 weeks when legal documents allow.

What is the typical cost of a destination wedding in Cyprus?

Cyprus is consistently better value than Italy, France or Greece for comparable quality. A small destination elopement or micro-wedding for 2–20 guests starts around €3,500–€6,000 including ceremony styling, registrar, photography and florals. A mid-sized destination wedding for 40–80 guests with full planning, venue hire, catering, bar, styling and entertainment typically runs €18,000–€40,000. Larger luxury destination weddings at exclusive-hire estates commonly sit between €50,000 and €100,000+. We build a transparent, line-by-line budget early in the process — no hidden mark-ups.

Where in Cyprus is best for a destination wedding?

Paphos is the most popular region for destination weddings: excellent flight connections, the widest venue variety on the island (coastal estates, clifftop ceremonies, winery gardens, country villas), and a 15+ year destination wedding infrastructure. Limassol suits couples who want a more cosmopolitan backdrop. Ayia Napa and east Cyprus offers private beachfronts and a more relaxed, sun-holiday feel. The Troodos foothills deliver a cooler mountain setting with traditional stone villages. We match region to guest experience and style rather than defaulting to a single answer.

Can guests fly directly to Cyprus from the UK?

Yes — and this is one of Cyprus's biggest practical advantages as a destination wedding location. There are direct flights to Paphos and Larnaca from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Bristol and Belfast with easyJet, British Airways, TUI, Ryanair and Jet2. Flight time from the UK is roughly 4.5 hours. Most guests can be at the venue within a day of departure — no connections, no long-haul exhaustion.

How do we manage our guests travelling to a destination wedding in Cyprus?

We handle the full guest journey plan for destination weddings: accommodation blocks at nearby hotels, villas or resort properties; shuttle transfers from the airports and between accommodation and venues; welcome information packs with flight guidance, arrival logistics and local recommendations; and a dedicated point of contact for guest queries. The majority of our couples' guests are travelling internationally, so we build the experience around making arrival effortless rather than overwhelming.

When is the best time of year for a destination wedding in Cyprus?

Late May, June, September and the first two weeks of October are our peak destination wedding months — warm, reliably sunny, long golden evenings, and no risk of winter rain. April is beautiful for smaller or more intimate destination weddings and carries better pricing. July and August are the hottest months (often 35°C+) but work well for couples who plan sunset ceremonies after 6pm and shaded reception spaces. November through March is the off-season: cooler, occasionally wet, and far less booked — ideal for very intimate micro-weddings or elopements on a smaller budget.
